February 1st - 26th Utah Arts Council Traveling Exhibits Program – "People, Places & Things on US 89" Photo Collection of John Telford
These 30 remarkable black & white images were selected from the larger collection of 60 photographs in John Telford's 503-mile photo tour of US Highway 89 in Utah. The show will include travel essays by Utah writers.
Highway 89 winds through mostly rural Utah, and passes the historic homes of internationally famous painter Maynard Dixon, sculptor Avard Fairbanks, and outlaw Butch Cassidy. Today's citizens, artists, and businesspeople continue to make significant contributions to Utah's economy, society, and culture. John Telford is a native of Utah and has been taking photographs of the landscape and the people for more than 35 years. Congress designated much of Highway 89 in Utah as Heritage Highway, and Telford's journey from Garden City in Rich County to Big Water in Kane County highlights the local, historic and indigenous qualities of the Beehive State.
OPEN: Monday through Friday - 9 AM to 5 PM, Saturday - 10 AM to 2 PM Admission FREE. Museum will be closed Monday February 20th. For more information, call: 435-789-7399 or visit us at WesternHeritageMuseum

EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

CodeRED Seconds Count In An Emergency!
CodeRED

Uintah County has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System - an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the county in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices).

The system is capable of dialing 50,000 phone numbers per hour. It then delivers our recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.

Sign up CodeRED CLICK HERE TO GET STARTED

THIS SYSTEM WILL ONLY BE USED FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES.

Examples of times when the CodeRED system could be utilized:

  • Drinking water contamination
  • Utility outage
  • Evacuation notice & route
  • Missing person
  • Fires or Floods
  • Bomb threat
  • Hostage situation
  • Chemical spill or Gas leak

and other emergency incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for life safety.
